A wedding planner claimed trial to two counts of cheating a client of a total of RM7,000.

Zurin Jundi, 34, whose real name is Zurina Ahmad Jundi, from Kota Raja here pleaded not guilty at the magistrate's court Thursday.

In the first charge, she was said to have deceived one Zainon Ali, 54, into believing that she offered wedding package services.

This induced Zainon to hand over RM5,000 as deposits for her daughter’s wedding.

The offence allegedly took place at the CIMB Bank in Port Klang on March 16.

For the second charge, Zurina was said to have once again deceived Zainon into giving her RM2,000 in cash as deposits for the wedding package offered at the accused's boutique at Jalan Plumbum, Seksyen 7 here on June 17.

She was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years, whipping and a fine upon conviction.

Wearing a green blouse and black long skirt, Zurina appeared calm and nodded when the charges were read to her by a court interpreter.

When deputy public prosecutor Amira Abdul Aziz offered bail at RM10,000 for both offences, Zurina, who was unrepresented, requested for a lower amount as she was in the process of gathering funds to refund her customers.

Magistrate Rozianti set bail at RM8,000 in one surety and fixed Nov 16 for remention and submission of documents.

She also instructed Zurina to appoint a lawyer.

It was reported in September that over 100 couples went to her boutique in late August to demand their money back following claims of unfulfilled wedding packages.Read more at:vintage wedding dresses | wedding dresses online
